Dr Alexander has an extensive record of success in teaching, domestic and international course development, academic leadership, and business management in both the private and public education sectors. He served as Dean of the Faculty of Business & Technology at the University of Western Sydney for over 10 years, was Executive Dean and then Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and Strategic Development) of the International College of Management, Sydney for 8 years and has led the academic and business development of a number of pathway providers including the UNSW Foundation Year and “Aspire Institute” – a new development at the International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) delivering ELICOS, Foundation, VET and HE diploma programs. Throughout his career Dr Alexander has initiated and led the development and establishment of innovative new programs (spanning pathway programs to PhD research degrees) to meet identified international market need, has established collaborative transnational programs in New Zealand, Malaysia and Indonesia and initiated partnerships leading to new programs in China and Singapore. He served as inaugural CEO and Director, UNSW Asia School establishing the academic programs for this organisation and leading the institutional accreditation by the Singapore Government.
